Backgrounds for on-line class

These are my backgrounds for my on-line class...The landscape version is my favorite, but after I completed it, the instructor told us it should have been in portrait mode...hence the second version. I'm trying to decide if I want to add more color (like reds) to the 2nd one since I think it needs it...of course I'm afraid I will mess it up completely and have to start all over again. Would appreciate any comments from the peanut gallery...I mean from my fellow artists.
